It started off as a simple plan. Javier would ride his motorcycle on his wedding day. Yet sometimes our plans don’t align with that of Mother Nature.
Wedding day now, and everything was set. Javier suited up, helmeted up and then biked up to where he and Bertha would see each for their first look. Everything for Javier was looking up. But when he actually did ‘look up’ those lovely blue skies that were once before him had changed. Grey filled them, and Javier was only halfway on the road to seeing his beautiful wife to be. To say he got drenched on his bike would be an understatement. As the rain poured down, it truly was too much for anyone to drive though. He had to pull off to the side of the road and call for help. So he did, and he called Bertha’s brother who just so happened to be close by.
By the way, we haven’t even spoken about the bride. There she was, standing under shelter and waiting for Javier. Bertha, must have had a million things running through her head. Maybe she was thinking about how soaked he would be? Or who would give him a lift? Or maybe she was thinking about an agreement she had made with Javier about what would happen after their church?
You see, I haven’t told you what the whole plan was. Javier would ride his bike out to their 1st look, where we would then take some candid pictures of the two of them. Then he would ride his motorcycle and park it outside the church. And finally, they had agreed that after church, they would ride off on motorcycle and head to the reception. That’s right, bride in wedding dress driving off on motorcycle, get your cameras ready!
Part 1 of their plan partially happened, part 2 didn’t, and part 3 was still pending.
Now if there is one thing that can be said about the rain in Mexico, it is this. As quickly as it comes, as quickly as it leaves. On Bertha and Javier’s wedding the rain came, left its mark, and then by the time the church had started, it had left. The blue skies from earlier had come back, the sun was shining brightly, and the pending part of their plan, part 3, was about to happen.
Bertha and Javier, your wedding was a thrill ride that won’t soon be forgotten. Thanks so much for letting us tell your story!
