What is our photographic trifecta when working a wedding? Many people think it is a beautiful backdrop, a wide open landscape or some iconic edgy location. And truth be told, having your wedding at an elegant place like San Gabriel de Barrera in Guanajuato (where Gela and Gerardo decided) definitely adds to the overall beauty in our imagery. However, for us, none of that really enters our thought process when we photograph a wedding.
No. For us, it is all about light and shadow. These two elements shape our frames, alter our compositions and lead our creativity. Light is what directs our eye, catches our attention and mysteriously draws us into a frame. It focuses an audience to tell a story. Shadow is our balance to light. It gives us framing around our subject, keeping us engaged and often adding drama. With these two elements we are half way to our photographic trifecta. The one missing element is natural emotions. Smiling, laughing, or tearing up connects us on a human level. And on a wedding day, our thought process is led by these elements: light, shadow and natural emotions.
Gela and Gerado, we believe we found our photographic trifecta on your wedding. We had so much fun being with you guys, and can’t thank you enough for trusting in us to tell your story.
