Marce and Jorge’s pre-wedding festivities began with a traditional Vaquillada and were followed by a San Miguel de Allende Staple, a callejoneada.
What is a Vaquillada you ask? Calfs running around in a rodeo, without being harmed, headbutting the men lined up taking them out one by one. After that, the wedding party made up of friends and family took to the streets and we all headed out with our trusted buddy Pecas the Donkey, drinking tequila and dancing to the rythm of Banda Music, while the Mojigangas, the large puppets, set the pace. We finished off with a cocktail at Boutique Hotel Hacienda de Guadalupe and left them to rest and get ready for their Big Day the following morning.
It was a really fun day in which the bride and groom’s entire family came from Northern Mexico to San Miguel and enjoyed the beauty this colonial city had to offer.
